Welcome to
the Strontian Hotel
a small Highland hotel overlooking one of the most impressive panoramic loch and mountain views in Lochaber. Settle in, unwind, and experience authentic Highland hospitality in one of Scotland’s most captivating coastal landscapes.
Built in the early 19th century as the historic Mine Manager’s House, the hotel combines traditional Scottish character with contemporary comfort, offering an inviting base for exploring the West Highland Peninsulas and the wild landscapes of Ardnamurchan.
The recently refurbished Bothy Bar and Restaurant serves traditional fare with a strong focus on fresh local produce. Guests can enjoy hearty bar food, Scottish whisky, real ales and a wide selection of gins—including Strontian’s own—while taking in uninterrupted views across Loch Sunart through large picture windows. The extended beer garden (completed in 2025) provides generous outdoor seating and extra dining capacity, perfect for soaking up the scenery. Inside, cosy fireside corners and dog‑friendly tables create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere after a day in the Highlands.
Families will find flexible accommodation Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel, and location is the perfect base for exploring the Highlands and Islands. Potential day trips include Castle Tioram, the golden beaches of Sanna Bay, the most westerly point in mainland Britain at the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, boat trips or onward travel to the Isle of Mull or Isle of Skye via local Calmac ferries. Secure cycle storage with individual lock‑ups is provided for cyclists and motorcyclists, and there is ample free parking on site.
Perfectly placed for discovering the West Highland Peninsulas—often called the real wild west of Scotland—the Strontian Hotel sits amid rugged mountains, ancient woodlands, heather moorland, historic castles and luminous sea lochs. This unspoilt region is rich in wildlife, from otters and seals to golden eagles, white‑tailed eagles and pine martens. Once visited, it is a place that stays with you.
